Unlock Your Potential with Centred Self Counselling

Andrea Gunner, RPN

I am a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and a member of the Canadian College of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I have dedicated the past 18 years to serving the Edson and Whitecourt communities as a mental health therapist. My professional background spans a diverse range of settings, including inpatient psychiatry, inpatient and community crisis intervention, school-based mental health services, preschool mental health services, and community-based adult and child mental health therapy.

Recognizing the uniqueness of every individual, I am committed to tailoring therapy to meet each client’s specific needs and goals. My practice integrates a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Gestalt Therapy for children, art and play-based therapies, and Brainspotting. I am a certified Brainspotting practitioner and continue to take advanced training in the area of Brainspotting and trauma treatment.

In addition to adult counselling services, I provide specialized counselling services for children and adolescents, including preschool-aged clients, offering a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate environment where young children can express themselves and build resilience. Utilizing play-based therapy, art, storytelling, and other creative modalities, I work collaboratively with families to support emotional growth and behavioural challenges in early childhood.

Kristine Crossland, BSW, RSW

With over 20 years of experience in the public sector, I bring a compassionate, evidence-based approach to mental health and addiction therapy. As a Registered Social Worker, my practice is grounded in a deep commitment to supporting individuals navigating complex mental health challenges, trauma, and concurrent addictions.

I specialize in utilizing skills from a range of therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Trauma Experience Integration Therapy (TEI). My work is client-centred, trauma-informed, and focused on helping individuals and couples develop resilience, emotional regulation, and meaningful life changes.

Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, trauma healing, or couples counselling, I offer a safe and respectful space to explore, grow, and heal.
